The Map Project

If you’ve been following along on Instagram, you’ve probably seen the woodcut and papercut maps I’ve been making both by hand and on the lasercutter at NextFab (which is like a playground for makers).

For the last two and a half years, I’ve been conflicted about how to maintain Philly Love Notes. People have suggested doing Kickstarter, accepting ads or sponsored posts, or adding a “DONATE” button to the site, but I’m concerned that this would detract from the blog itself, which is already dependent on people donating their time and writing talents (you can always submit a love note directly through the site or via email).

So I’ve decided to sell papercut and woodcut maps to raise money for a website redesign and for other blog related projects. All of the lasercuts are based off of a 3’x4′ Philly map that I handcut during a brief stint of insanity. I’ll be taking pre-orders at the end of the week for a variety of neighborhoods and a limited number of custom cuts with your choice of Philly location. All money raised through these sales will go directly into updating Philly Love Notes, so if you want to support the blog, or are looking for something Philly-related for your house or as a gift, stay tuned. Until then, here’s a sneak peak at some of the neighborhoods
