My Love Note: There are a lot of lovely parks in Philadelphia, and plenty of others within walking distance right in Center City. Washington Square, Fitler Square, Independence Square… there sure are a lot of squares, but only one has managed to capture my heart. Rittenhouse Square.
It’s a love affair that, no matter how times I find myself hurt, I always come running back. The beautiful trees, the lovely people walking adorable dogs, and the farmers market on Saturdays? I adore it.
Rittenhouse Square could try to break up with me and convince me not to stay, possibly while treating me to gelato from the Capogiro nearby, and I simply wouldn’t listen.
Rittenhouse Square: Well, what about that time a homeless man snatched that book out of your hand, babbling nonsense about how he was Jesus and wrote the novel you were reading?
Eric: How could I stay mad at you? It’s okay.
Rittenhouse Square: Or when the Rittenhouse hawk pooped on you. Remember how traumatizing that was? What were the chances?! It was everywhere Eric. Everywhere.
Eric: These things happen. I still love you.
Rittenhouse Square: How about that time I—
oh my gosh, this was so cute. i also love Rittenhouse Square. it’s beautiful.
