My Love Note

Thank you for taking me into your gritty pretty tasty arms three years ago. While it was a rough start, the hard times have only made the good times that much better. Since making Philadelphia home my pride and admiration has exploded for the diverse ecosystem that is this city. I want to watch, walk, learn, listen, play, rest, swim, make, and eat it all up.

My favorite place is in oh-so-lovely Mt. Airy, the neighborhood I’ve called home for two short years (and plan to call home for many many more to come). The corner of Carpenter Lane & Greene Street just plain old makes me happy. I love being able to walk a few blocks to Mt. Airy Village where you can get most of what you need, sometimes run into a food truck or a pop-up farmers market, and always run into someone you recognize (even for a newbie like me) and feel first hand what it means to be a part of a community. This corner adds a nice little bustle to our intentionally mellow neighborhood.

I’m proud to call these streets and woods and creeks and rivers and buildings and parks and gardens and people my home. Thank you Philly for giving me a place to dig in some roots.
