My Love Note:

Dear Resurrection Ale House,

If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t be a chef.

I love the lifelong friends I made in the two years I spent cooking in that spotless little kitchen under chef Joey Chmiko.

I miss people-watching out your oversized windows overlooking the green expanse of yard at Naval Square while sitting at the sushi bar having a post-shift beer.

I loved cooking on the line four nights a week with Pedro, one of the most badass cooks I’ve ever seen.

What I loved most of all, though, was sharing backyard figs, leftover fried chicken and food conversation at the end of the night with staff and our lovely regulars.

Resurrection Ale House, you will always be home.

Love, Jenny
