My Love Note:

My Ode to Spruce Street.

A main vein of good. A cosmic melting pot of neighbor and hood.

It houses community leaders and inspiration. Teachers and concentration. Activists and motivation.

Its namesake has created foundations and its coffee houses fueled social innovations.

It is where summer hangs happen on brownstone stoops, where dogs walk and take their poops. Where trees grow in urban scenes, where young families renovate homes in hipster jeans.

Goodness echoes proudly from this street. Bouncing around City Halls, heard loudly in classroom seats.

It’s the next generation of leaders and youth, sharing their love and skills to help undercover the truth.

So, to all my Philly DoGooders, let’s get our Young Involved. Let’s leverage the Foundation of Spruce and move the problems from impossible to solved.
