My Love Note

Dear Hidden Streets,

You know where you are…at least, some of you. Although obscured from plain sight, you beautifully exist. The average Philadelphian won’t find you easily. In fact, it may take years or lifetimes to discover your secret hiding spots. Andorra, your Port Royal Street feels like the old country road with chickens, stone farmhouses and rolling hills. Chamonix Drive, you are a gentle home to so many horses, goats and the cutest ponies I have ever seen. Kitchen’s Lane, River Road, George’s Hill Drive, there are so many more of you! When I find you, I delight in the treasure. It is true that “there is another world, but it is in this world.” In fact, it is all within our city boundaries if you just look deep enough to find one.

Love,
Searching for urban gems
